Beach House in Florida

At WaterColor in Florida, a pastel beach house sports Bahamas shutters and metal roof.
It is the color of the water that so fascinated both interior designers Toby West and his clients at this Florida Cottage on the Gulf of Mexico.
When they chose the color everyone was against it...
But they was sure indeed.
Toby wanted to do something different, to shake it up...
(The colors is more mint -green IRL, this scanned pictures make them more soft..)
This both pictures is from the entrance area.

Master bedroom, canopy and drapers in Colefax and Flower fabrics, using plaid from Cowtan & Tout with shell trim from Travis & Company. Custom linens through Toby West Interiors. Mainly baskets bedsides tables wicker chairs and bench
This livingroom picture is just sooooo beautiful.
When you se this picture, you understand why Toby West was so sure about the color.
..But im curious..
Could you live in a house where almost everything is GREEN?
I guess we all could live by the sea..thats for sure..but the color?
The house is like living in a icecream..cool, soft and delicious

I absolutely adore everything about this beach house from the decor to the actual layout and architecture of it! I'm in the midst of looking at beach houses to rent so that I can treat my family to a getaway and I want one just like this!

Hey Marie, it's "little susie", lol...i was reading your lastest blog post about the ''classic dining rooms" and got lost looking at your old posts.....i grew up in southwest florida in sarasota, which is right on the gulf of mexico......the gorgeous muted seafoamgreen/aqua tinted hues of this home are EXACTLY the colors of the water at the beaches there....at sunset, it's so gorgeous to sit on the pure white sand of siesta, or the peach colored crush shelled ''sand'' of lido, look over the setting sun blending it's golden tons in with the seafoam greens of the sea.......it's so calming.......ANYWAY, as far as your decor question, i just adore this cottage's scheme, it's all so pretty and perfect for the area, but my husband's sister painted their bedroom in this tone, and it made everything in the room be a blend to your eyes of nothing but an aqua sea......i always seem to come back to white/off-white walls, because colored walls always seem to wash that color over the rest of the room and the hues of the furnishings and accessories seem lost because they take on the color of the walls in my mind.....i don't know if that happens to just me or if anyone else experiences that with strong hued walls......i love rooms like this in photos though, but for some reason i find being in colored rooms kind of confusing to my eyes :).....i love this post and this gorgeous little beach cottage, but i do agree about all that green in one space like you stated.....love susie <3.
